  5. Introduction
  6. ------------
  7. Testing under OS4 revealed a long standing bug in the IBrowse preferences
  8. custom class. This bug manifested itself as a crash as soon as the preferences
  9. were launched. This crash can actually happen under OS3 too, although it doesn't
  10. tend to happen very often, purely by luck. This is an updated version of the
  11. 2.3 IBPreferences.ibcc which fixes this bug.

  13. Even if you do not have this crash (or OS4-Pre) it is recommended you still
  14. update this file, as the bug is still present in the IBrowse preferences.

  17. Installation
  18. ------------
  19. Exit IBrowse, if you have it running, then Backup the current IBPreferences.ibcc
  20. file contained in the ibcc/ dir within your main IBrowse 2.3 directory, then
  21. copy the new IBPreferences.ibcc file into the dir.

  24. OS4 Users
  25. ---------
  26. If you had previously renamed your SYS:Prefs/Env-Archive/sys/locale.prefs as a
  27. workaround to the preferences crash, rename the file back to the original name
  28. to reinstate your locale settings. Reboot your computer to reload your system
  29. with the correct locale settings, and the new IBPreferences.ibcc file.
